I have also experienced this problem. Same exact thing. IN PT 10 everything works correctly. I us Aux Inputs with Plugins for various affects (Eq, comp, etc.) while tracking drums. All of the inputs from the preamps go to Aux Input tracks and then are bussed to Audio tracks and recorded. If I add a new track again using an Aux input with a plugin on it after recording the kit I get a delay that has not been accounted for.

I use this exact same template in PT 10 without a hitch...

My bug report doesn't show up anymore?? There is a message stating that it needs moderator approval first!?!? I posted it days ago...??

Anyway, here's the report from toddsorensen

http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/...or/113423-3779

Avid, please get this fixed, so we can all enjoy PT11's features, since most plugin's are AAX64 compatible and Mavericks is released.

Thanks!
Erwin

I too have discovered this problem..
When routing multi out instruments to an aux and inserting a plugin adc doesn't work.
You can see all the audio tracks adjusting adc but not the auxes, they remain 0.

I discovered this when testing Blue Cat Audio Patchwork to see if it's working in PT11.
At first I thought it was the Blue Cat Audio Patchwork plugin causing the problem.
But after removing it and trying other plugins the problem remained.
So, it's something in PT11... btw, Blue Cat Audio Patchwork is great!
I did all the usual troubleshooting things, trashing prefs etc.. reinstalling PT11.

Then I opened the same project in PT10 and low and behold, it works fine.
You can see the ADC numbers on the aux tracks, on PT11 they're 0.

I couldn't believe I'm the only one having this problem, this is a show-stopper!
I found this thread and realized most people are in the same boat..
It's been 7 months since I bought PT11 and still I can't use it.
Has AVID confirmed this bug?
I think the guys at http://www.pro-tools-expert.com/ should know about this.
This issue must be resolved.

Emilio
here's screen sots showing the issue.

For what it's worth, I'm having the exact same issue, basically rendering PT11 useless with virtual instruments. I've seen the problem with both Kontakt and Superior Drummer. If I don't route the output to individual aux tracks and let the audio play through the instrument track itself, it sounds perfectly in sync. Likewise, if I don't use any plugins in the project that require delay compensation, all is good. Obviously, neither alternative is practical or acceptable.

If the bug report mentioned earlier in this thread is going nowhere, I may need to use my 'complimentary' tech support visit to be sure this gets Avid's radar.

Avid should first fix the major bugs and then start to give the 90 day free tech support. ...

Related issue here (HD 11.0.3 on HD Native).

My instrument tracks having plugins do not compensate for delay, while my audio tracks do.
The second I disable an instrument plugin on the instrument track, delay compensation turns on.

Can anyone confirm this behaviour?

If this is a feature instead of a bug, then I am having a hard time understanding it.

As a side note: In another project on PT11 I had track displaying a compensation of some 1000 samples (I think 1032 but not sure), while there wasn't any track displaying this amount of latency! After changing buffer etc. it just went away.
There is something going on here for sure.

Edit: Found the source of the "Ghost" delay. An instrument track was routed to an audio track's input, which caused the long delay. I have no idea why that is, but it can be reproduced by simply routing an instrument track to an audio tracks input (which I regularly use when "track freezing" eg. bouncing).

Avid, I (we?) would love to have some documentation of what exactly goes on in PT11 regarding track delay compensation and plugin delay compensation, because I have no clue whatsoever.

I just tested this with Kontakt 5 and two instrument tracks. Identical instruments routed to both channels. The second you put a plug on the second output, the multi out it phases. I really can't believe a bug like this made it through to release. This has got to be the first thing they need to fix.

The delay gets even more extreme as you add plugins with larger Delays. With Waves UltraPitch Shift it becomes an almost 8th note delay!!! They have to fix this like yesterday!

Can anyone confirm if it was doing this before OSX10.8.5?? I just updated tonight to PT11.1.0 and osx10.8.5... I wish I would have tested. I'm just going to figure out how to roll back OSX and reinstall PT11.0.2
