Default Question about External SSD

I have a MAC OSJournaled Lacie drive. It is Thunderbolt I recently cleaned out most of what was on it. Deleted files. When I go to check the available Gas it is not changing. Can this drive be written over?

EDIT: When I emptied the trash the SSD became clear. It still read it as full as long as files remained in trash

Uh. What are you talking about? Free space? Checked *exactly* how?

How are you deleting stuff? If from the Finder you remember to you empty the Trash?

Lacie make a lot of different drives. Multiple different thunderbolt SSD drives. If you have a question about a specific drive how about an exact model name or model number?
