Default Ads and other insane stuff on this web site now

As of the last few days, I'm getting tons of ads and other flashy, crazy stuff. One ad is asking me to call a number for tech support, my computer has an issue, and another is asking me to stall software. Is this just my computer? Anyone know what is going on?

Do you mean here on the forum? Or Avid website!?

Have never seen any ads or anything since I started here and the only thing I have seem is asking of I wanna install TapaTalk app as it's a smoother way of posting.

tapatalk has been very aggressive with the last few updates as far as pushing the app to users of a forum that don't use tapatalk.

I use this (on my phone obviously) and it's a great app....but I refuse to "recommend it to others" just b/c if they need something they will go out and find it themselves.

it's like a game invite on facebook......nobody usually wants to see that.

I've been getting a lot of pop-up windows and miss-directed pages also. I've been chasing them fora couple of days now and the machine still isn't running right!

Check in your browser's settings section for unwanted "add one" or "services" that sometimes get installed when you visit certain sites. They will result in ads being displayed around the borders of a page and make it look like they are part of a legitimate web site (like this one).

Uninstall these add ons to resolve the issue. Better yet, periodically run a good antivirus program scan and it will eliminate these for you. Hope this helps.
