Default DAE.dll in Win XP Media Center

Okay, so I'm running an E-Machine T6522 with an AMD 64 3500+ and a gig of ram. Before we start hating on media center, I'm going to be putting Pro on it soon, I just haven't gotten a legitimate copy of it yet. I just bought a 002R from a friend here at school, and it came with an LE 6.1 installation disk. I installed the program as per instructions in the manual, and when I try to launch I get this message: "The procedure entry point _DsiSetThreadPriority@8 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSI.dll." I also recieve this: "A required .dll file, DAE.dll, was not found." Is this a common problem in Media Center installations, or am I dealing with a whole other monster here?

Media Center is not supported for any version of Pro Tools, especially with 6.1 which is software that was developed before media center even existed.

The problem that you are having, though, sounds more like you have two different versions of Pro Tools drivers on there. Did you install the newest PT wavedriver and/or ASIO driver before or after installing 6.1?

Media Center is unsupported, but some people have gotten it to work (including me), but it was with 6.9. Also it seems like those who have, have had no problems at all during installation. So you may not be one of the lucky ones. Just get an OEM version of XP pro for $140 from newegg and you should be on your way (unless your hardware is incompatible).

Just for the record I now dual boot with media center as my normal internet/working operating system and xp pro as my recording operating system; works much smoother.

Well, when I got my Delta 44 I installed M-Powered, but removed that some time back. My friend Stephenie had also brought her 002 over to update her firmware, but I had uninstalled PT LE before installing my own copy with this 002. I've been meaning to format and install XP Pro for a while, I'll see if my roomy has a copy of Pro and I'll back up what I need and then redo the OS and hard drive. Hopefully that'll work.
