Rex files work won't follow tempo
Greetings, I recently made a post about trouble with Rex files over in the "Pro Tools LE Windows Systems: 003, 002, Mbox, 001" section which was probably the wrong section of the forum for this post. A rookie mistake, so don't flame me for the double post. Hopefully I'll do better over here.
When I add a rex file to a track in PT8 in acts as a standard wav file ie I can't get it to follow the session tempo. I create a new audio track, set it to follow ticks, then I open up the workspace window and drag the rex file to the track. The rex file doesn't have the group icon on it as expected. It then behaves like a normal wav not a rex file. I can get it to follow the session tempo but only by using elastic audio. I've downloaded a few rex files to test, I can't get these to work either so I don't think it's the format. I've downloaded files from a few different sites, here's one from the DUC: http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread...ight=rex+files Many Thanks. BT |

Re: Rex files work won't follow tempo
As I said in your other post, Go to Preferences->Processing...
Under the "Import" section, make sure "Import REX Files as Region Groups" is checked.

Re: Rex files work won't follow tempo
Thanks, I've now got it working. I have to use "File\Import\Region Groups" though, is this correct? If I drag and drop form the Workspace it doesn't work but if a I drag and drop from Window Explorer it's fine.
Many Thanks. BT. |
