Default Hardware exchange??

There was, at 1 time, a place where upgradeing from, say 002 to 003, was listed with cost,, etc. Is there no such place in 'Avid land',,, all I found searching 'hardware exchage', is, support, etc...... Is there a way to exchange an 003 to the newer HD format??? Or is the 003 just another one of those things you put in your grandkids play room with a mic, and see what happens??
Thanks guys!! Mike

There is currently no trade up offer from LE interfaces to HDX. But I'm sure they will offer that at some point, because they always have in the past.

As for HD Native, they had a trade up offer from LE interfaces that officially ended a few months ago, but is still listed on the Sweetwater site.

But you don't want to go that way now because they have another special for HD Native that's far better and you don't need to trade anything in. They have the Omni/HD Native bundle and the HD 8x8/HD Native bundle for $1500 off in each case. That special is even better than the $1000 off you got by trading in your interface. So you save $500 more, and still get to keep your interface, or sell it to someone.

Now is not the time to be jumping on any Avid boats.
This is a very transitional stage for them so current owners need to think through what they do.
Best to wait and see what they have coming in the next 18 months.

Very good points..! My real interest in an upgrade will be when 64 bit is finaly 'in', and 32 bit 'history'!!
I would say that if someone here says that '10' actually 'sounds' that much better, as mentioned in the videos, then I guess I would take a serious look at it??!! Other wise,,,, well,, we'll see?

Thanks guys,,,,,,,,,,,,, Mike
