Default Mac computer keyboards

Mac users:
For those that use desktops or a laptop with an external keyboard - do any of you use a keyboard other than an Apple one or one of the modified by third party Apple ones? I know Macs can use just about any keyboard.

The reason I'm asking is I've got two Macs here and both keyboards are starting to exhibit the same symptoms: missing keystrokes, intermittent space bar working unless I hit the keys really hard. They do work okay if I use a slow hunt-and-peck style but my former touch typing style isn't working as well as it used to. Both keyboards are wired with the numpad - they're not the shorty keyboards.

This would have to be something I can buy online as with the current covid-19 situation and stores closing I can't get out to try something to see how it feels.

Matias keyboards are what I use.

https://matias.ca/products/

I wanted (primarily) black keys and at the time you could only buy them with the iMac Pros.

First I sprung for the BT version with backlight, but after endless issues with dropouts (Mac issue NOT the keyboard) I ended up giving it to a friend and brought the wired version.

They look and function almost identically to the Apple ones. The wired one has the side USB ports and has RGB backlighting which the Apple keyboards don’t.

They’re not cheap, but neither are the Apple ones. They’re built well - metal just like the Apple ones. Plus the backlighting is cool. Look like the laptop keyboards.

You’re on a MP so prob won’t encounter the BT issues that plague my Mini.

Best.

Avid and LogicKeyboards both make Mac versions with full color coding and PT-specific markings. They can be pricey to buy as new(around $150) but they also can often be found second hand(I bought both brand off craigslist for $50-75 each)

Logickeyboard here too. They are pricey, but they're well made, sturdy aluminum with two USB ports (one either end). I dig mine.

Thanks for the replies but the sad thing is they're all using the same keyswitches Apple uses. One of the keyboards that's acting up is barely two years old.
