Default Format????

Hi all.

Pulling my hair out.I've been working on a track, i went to bounce
to disk, which it did,but when i came to burn it i get a message
'Blah blah blah is not a sound file,or is not a supported format'.
I've never had this come up before.Don't know what i've done wrong :c(
Since this, i've tried to burn other sessions but get the same thing.
It wont burn anything from pt.It's the first time it's happened in 7
years and i got a gig coming up.Any ideas please?

Many thanks

J

List the converted file as in type, bit depth, sample rate, etc.

Did you make sure "Enforce Mac/PC compatibility" box was checked when you created the session? If not, you won't have the extension after the file name. Try just adding the .aif or .wav extension and see if that cures it.

There's a checkbox in that same dialogue box where you choose bit and sample rate, that says "Enforce Mac/PC compatability"; make sure to click that box so there's a check mark in it.

To add an extension to a filename, click the filename and it will "highlight"; hit the right arrow key, which moves the cursor to the end of the filename, and type either ".wav" or ".aif" depending which extension is appropriate.

If you haven't already, search for the difference in Bounce to disk and Record to track. There are some pretty good debates, but Record to track seems to win out being better quality. That might also solve your problem since you'd be exporting a file instead of bouncing.
