Default QuickTime Pro Replacement

So after 25 years on a Mac for my main editing system, I'll be moving to a Windows 10 machine in a few weeks, and looking for apps to replace my Apple apps. One is QuickTime Pro. I know there are many movie/audio players out there but I'm specifically looking for an app that allows me to remove an audio track from a movie and replace it. I do this often for client approval videos. It's quick and simple without the need for video editing software and QT Pro does this well. I did see where QTP works on Windows but there are some security issues (I saw a fix) but maybe there's something out there from this era.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll be searching the Windows forums more often as I move to the dark side.

Can't you do this within Pro Tools? Just bring the video in without audio, drop the new audio in and bounce out with video and audio? You will, as far as I know, need QT - not Pro - to do this as Avid hasn't replaced the need for QT that I'm aware of (someone please correct me if I'm mistaken) but installing QT as per these instructions negates the security concerns.

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL837?v...S&locale=en_US Just disable it from browsers and use other apps for playing video.

I think https://handbrake.fr/ or http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html can also do a lot of what QT-pro does.

As mentioned, you can do this in Pro Tools. You could also use a free video editor like Media Composer | First, Hitfilm Express, Davinci Resolve, etc...

You could also try VLC.

Yep, do it directly within Pro Tools.

I’m actually surprised you’ve been using QT to do it for all this time. If you don’t need to edit the video, there’s no need to leave PT.

Thanks all. Haven't used bounce to QT in PT in a long time because in the past it was too slow and quirky and, quite honestly, I totally forgot about it. Maybe all has improved now. Will give it a go.

Thank you.
