Missing iLok Authorisation

Err...
Just booted my DAW, last night did a windows update. I think and daybefore updated PT to 9.0.3. All was good through the day yesterday.

ilok is conncected and recognised by the computer. ilok.com verifies iloks attached and licences in place.

PT on boot gives an error :

Error, missing iLok authorization for "Pro Tools 9". Please insert the necessary iLok to continue.

I couldve just had a client sitting on me head... hehe...

this is a known issue, remove the ilok dongle and install it on a different USB port and restart protools. This often fixes it.

As it so happens, PT booted just fine now.

With my older iLok, sometimes it is not seen here either. Whenever that happens, I can see that the iLok's green LED is out. I give it a jiggle and it lights up and works. In my case, I think the USB port may be going bad. Don't forget to turn OFF the power management feature on all USB ports.
