Selected ASIO Device could not be Initialized [SOLVED]
Hahahahaha
When I launch Pro Tools 10 I get the classic "Selected ASIO Device could not be Initialized." I'm using the USB powered M-Audio C600 (that I got when I was given the devastating news that my four M-Audio Delta 1010s would not work with Pro Tools 10). I was looking at ways of contacting Avid and came across that Avid Support Code thing. £29.95, what a bargain.... Apart from upping my intake of anti-depressants to 40mg i'm not sure what to do.... I used to use a cracked copy of Cubase with my Deltas and lived a rather peaceful and contented life, but now all I have is an iLok that's only real purpose seems to be as a small blue LED light and a pretty disappointing bank balance. Why? Dear god, why? Last edited by HarryHaller; 08-23-2012 at 07:08 PM. Reason: Problem Solved |

Re: Depression
They should just get over it and finally say it: Pro Tools/Mac - all others, try at your own risk.
I know, I know...I bring the wrath of PC audio rocket scientists upon me...but I kid. sort of. |

Re: Depression
Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the C600 drivers. You can also try holding down the "N" key when starting Pro Tools which should give you the Audio Engine Dialogue and you can see if the C600 is available/can be selected.
I have a friend with the C600 and there were issues if you plugged it into a different USB port. You can try reinstalling the drivers, plug it into a port and, if it works, just be sure to use the same USB port going forward. Cheers,

Re: Selected ASIO Device could not be Initialized
Thank you for saving me £29.95, decreasing the spread of SSRIs & restoring my faith in humanity. As persnickety as PCs are, I have made my bed and will lie in it... but I can't thank you enough for changing the sheets.
I do usually use the same usb slot, but I must have missed this morning.... No doubt due to a weak coffee. I'm still gutted that I can't use my 32 i/o from my Delta 1010s but I think until Avid/M-Audio sort it out I might just have to commission you to read out a list of all my favorite records recorded using four tracks or less with that velvety voice of yours! Many thanks & all the best, Harry |
