Default auto follows edit ALERTER

if you mess with the "automation follows edit" setting like I do you'll appreciate this.

AFEAlerter released as a free app for Mac users.
this brings a long overdue RED FLASHING LIGHT! to warn you when automation follows edit is switched off.
add it to you login items and it'll put a warning in your top menu bar when AFE is switched off.

10.7 or greater... for now.

BTW:

Any chance to make a little helper that disables/enables the command-alt-shift-click onto the automation type field short-cut?
This disables/enables all automation lanes (incl. sends and plugins) in the entire session and you can not see it unless you dig down every single lane incl. sends.

Cheers,

Frank.

maybe.
only tested on my own PT machine: 10.7.4 PT10.1.1
uses system events so you need to make sure "access for assistive devices" is enabled in the system prefs - universal access.

has been updated.
as per user feedback it now flashes the entire screen in a red tint.
there's no preference for it - so if you prefer it less in-yr-face then don't upgrade.

Very nice. Just the other day I thought the alert could be a bit more alarming.

Thanks Justin.

Frank.
