Default No option for creating a video track?

I'm on a 003 Rack Factory with Pro Tools LE 7.3.

I want to create a video track and the manual says I just need to create a video track by choosing 'video' in the options list for new tracks. 'Video' doesn't appear as a track option....? Can't find anything on the DUC about this. Still trying to find something on the Digidesign site.

Any clues???

From what I understand you can import video into LE, but not "create" video within it. You can create a video track, but that is just for the video that you import. From that point you can used LE to create a soundtrack for your video. Use another app for actually making your video file.

Thanks for the reply. I have Quicktime Movie to import and I've managed to import the video, but there is definitely no option to go Track > New > and then pick up 'Video' from the list of different track types you can create. In fact I think I'm supposed to have a click track option in the list too that doesn't seem to be there?

Is anyone out there experienced in importing Quicktime video with audio tracks and what settings I need who could help? I'm a bit lost and on a deadline (of course!).

I now have the video in my session with the accompanying audio track but when the audio plays back it sounds all choppy and sped up....

Can anyone help? I'm scouring the Reference Guide but not getting anywhere.

You'll need DV Toolkit 2.

Extremely old thread, but in order to see "Video" as a track type , you need PT HD or the now defunct complete production toolkit.
