Subject: DigiDelivery Central Server Outage Warning
To: DigiDelivery Support <[email protected]>

Dear DigiDelivery Administrator or User,

This email is intended to make you aware of an emergency outage for the DigiDelivery Central Server(s). The servers will be taken offline at 4PM PST (12AM GMT) on Friday February 29th (March 1 GMT). It is projected that the server may remain offline for up to 8 hours (until 12AM PST March 1 (8AM GMT).) The outage is to enable some important database and server maintenance.

This should not impact any deliveries which were completely posted (and relayed where appropriate) prior to this time. During the outage it will be possible to post and receive deliveries using your own DigiDelivery server. However users should be advised to avoid posting deliveries which may involve server to server relays as the relay directory information will be unavailable. If you do not know whether your intended recipient has forwarding enabled you may wish to defer posting your delivery until the system has been restored. No changes to server to server settings will be possible during the outage.

DigiDesign ADMINISTRATORS: PLEASE DO NOT MAY ANY CHANGES TO 'Network Information' OR 'Account Information' ON YOUR SERVER DURING THIS TIME.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for the short notice. Because of the emergency nature of these changes we are unable to predict with assurance all impacts to deliveries which have been posted where a relay is still in progress when the server goes offline. We believe that the forwards will continue although notifications of completion may be delayed. If you post a delivery a short time before the outage and have not received your confirmation email please wait until several hours after the central service is restored for delivery confirmation. If recipients do not receive notification of the delivery assume the delivery was not successfully posted and resend them. For any deliveries posted during the outage to a recipient who has server to server relay enabled the relay may not occur because your DigiDelivery server will not be able to reach the central server. You may experience a slight delay at the end of the posting while your DigiDelivery server attempts to contact the central server. The end result is the recipient may be receiving the delivery from the "original" server and not their targeted "relay" server. This will be transparent to them in terms of download and access but may mean the downloaded delivery will take longer if there is a great distance between the recipient and the server.

If you have questions or issues about this outage or experience problems with deliveries as a result we are happy to assist you in resolving them. The receipt of Delivery Notification and Delivery Posting emails are your best indication of the success of your deliveries. Should you have issues please reply to this email or post a request for assistance via our website at

http://www.asperasoft.com/support/supportform.html

Be prepared to provide information about your server and the details as to the steps taken, problems encountered or error messages received.

Additionally recipients who have do not already have the DigiDelivery client prior to the outage may face a delay in the receipt of their delivery as the server where they can download the client may not be fully available.

No email notification will be sent regarding the restoration of the server. The signal that service has been restored will be the availability and accessibility of the Server to Server forwarding page which can be found at the following link:

https://secure.digidesign.com/digidelivery/forwarding/

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Regards,

Chris Markle
