Odd Video / Sync error
Hello All,
Im on my new HDX/ PT 10.2/ Mac pro 12 core/32 gb ram/ Sync I/O/ 16x16 I/O system. and Ive got this strange error: The SYNC Video reference is not present. Although the system will still play, it will not properly align playback to a video frame edge until the video reference is restored. the reason why its strange is that Ive got nothing connected to the video ref port of the Sync I/O. Only WC in. I get this error when clocking from WC in OR when clocking internally. Firmware is up to date. trashing prefs dosent help, and it does this on many sessions in varying sample rates. any thoughts? thanks! Sean

Some migrated from 7.4, some brand new HDX/ PT 10, but all " in house" sessions. thanks for the response.

The next thing is to command 2 (numerical) and check the session set up page whenever you load an old session. If these are old sessions is it possible they were originally clocked to vid ref and the setting remains. If that's the case switch to internal of the sync HD or the HD i/o, but from reading your post I get the impression you're already doing that. One thing that does confuse me is that if you have no video why have you got a sync HD? It just seems a bit unnecessary if you're not syncing to anything and if you're clocking your HD i/o to an external source (I use an Antelope Isochrone Trinity) you can clock directly to the HD i/o. We have a virtually identical system here and my own one is the same as yours bar the sync HD and we're having no issues. Perhaps one thing to try is diconnect the Sync HD (take it out od the equation) and wc directly into the wc in of the HD i/o and see if the issues persist.
