transport strange things with d-control
hi everybody
i've a very strange problem using the transport panel of my d-control : when i pushed the play button, it doesn't do the same thing that when i push the space key of my mac keyboard : > it doesn't do the pre roll > the parameters that are latched on stop ("allow latch prime in stop" preference to on) are not taken > the edit menu become blue for e few moment, as if i had done a shorcut of the edit menu so i suppose that the transport panel is assigned to another fonction or option, but i didn't find it on the preferences... any idea ?

Quote:
1. The space bar does both 'play' and 'stop' ... the transport buttons are dedicated to each do what they are supposed to do. As in 'play' engages play and 'stop' stops transport ... rewind rewinds etc ... with 'preroll' enabled and set to anything else then zero both however should start playing the preroll. So are you saying that for example : when you set the timeline at say bar 16 and you enable a 4 bar preroll ... hitting the spacebar on the keyboard starts playing at bar 12 and pressing play on the transport section starts playing at bar 16 ? 2. I'm not sure what you mean with the 'latched on stop' thing and what it has to do with the transport section. Can you explain please ? Are all transport functions working from the transport section ? rewind / fast forward / record button / start / stop ... ? At what point does it not work ? 3. Check your firmware under the utilities menus. Does it match the software version that is installed ? You can also open up the peripherals menu in the software and hit the OK button. if the firmware isn't up to the latest software version installed and the controller is assigned in the ethernet controllers section then it should ask you to do so.

Re: transport strange things with d-control
a simple resetting of protools pref and database (with the very sexy "protools pref and database helper") resolved my problem. i as pretty shure that it came from de d-control, but finaly not
thanks
