Default PT Express virtual instruments wont install

Hi,
purchased fast track solo and installed PT Express , unzipped and tried to install the virtual instruments, I get a msg saying " A newer version of this application is already installed, If you wish to install this version you must uninstall the other one" or close to that effect,
I trashed prefs, and databases and emptied another folder as per another thread but it still wont install, I downloaded the installer and it was 1.8 gig,

I did have installed the trial vesion of PT 11 but it has been removed .

Kinda stuck,

cheers

Joe

Start at the "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!" link above on this page.

What OS and version?

What exact version of Pro Tools Express is installed and what version are you trying to install the virtual instruments for?

Did you try to install 11 at the same time as Express? How did you Uninstall 11?

Try uninstalling Pro Tools Express and download the latest version of that which it is compatible with your OS. e.g. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...431&popup=true

Darryl ,
Sorry Mate for the ignorance, my bad,

problem sorted but just quickly,

Win 7 64 bit ultimate
pro tools express 10.3.4

What happened was I missed the Pro tools 11 trial instruments which were in an "AIR" folder, so i didnt uninstall these and Express was asking me to but i was looking for "pro tools"

I uninstalled the "AIR"pt 11 trial program and my Express instruments went straight on,

Now Im getting BSOD . But!!! thats for another post,

I have read your link and printed it out to help me help you help me in future,

Sorry for the nincompoop error of not reading FAQ's and lack of info, I was born in the 60's so that kinda noob error is kinda embarrassing,

Cheers

Joe

When you post about the BSOD include the exact BSOD error text, as much as you can (look in the Windows Event Viewer all the info is there and can be cut and pasted), and try searching with that error message for that on DUC and Google first. Most Pro Tools related BSOD are problems with device drivers.
