True.

Solution to that problem: Stop paying-> Keep the best working version of PT-> Use another DAW to cover the missing features-> Spend the earned cash from the canceled renewal on more pints at the pub!

Cheers!

There must be some kind of miscommunication but Cubase has always shown the direct effect of gain curves. (Way before Pro Tools even had clip gain)

OK, you're crazy.

And where's the profit in that? Next thing you'll expect is medicine that cures people so they need less medicine. Jeez, some people set the bar so high.

Let's not give Avid any more excuses. We need to hold them to their words. There is a lot of Excuses in this thread for Avid to use. My money has a Vote. If by December 30th I'm not Happy; I will wait 2 years to get back on.

I don't disagree, but if you use a Mac computer and need to upgrade to Catalina, how can you not keep your plan current? That is my dilemma. I'm not a fan of running a legacy OS. There are too many cyber threats out there. Hackerware is becoming cheaper and easier for almost anyone to take advantage of an out of date OS. I don't have the luxury of keeping my Mac Pro offline for Audio use only. If I did, I'd be off the subscription plan already. So I guess I either pay the subscription fee or drop Pro Tools altogether.

The frustrating part is even though all software developers have had a beta version of Catalina for months, Pro Tools historically is very slow at getting compatibility. The last time it took Avid 8 months to become compatible with Mojave, and that doesn't include the time Avid had when Mojave was still beta.

Slow development, can be applied in a model like the previous one, where avid could take all the time they need, to release the new version with added features, bug fixes etc.
User had the choice to upgrade or not, depending of how attractive the new version is.

When the model is, grab the cash in advance, giving no clue of what to expect next (development wise), under deliver or deliver nothing at all for 6 months (half the annual fee gone) .....then no....they don't have the time luxury to be slow.
better hire more people, get some voodoo gods in play, work their ass off to make it happen......i don't care...it is their problem to solve.

Cheers!
