Default 64bit XP and PTs

Hello-
it is my understanding that PTs will install on XP 64bit OS but will not be able to load the drivers. Does anyone know if Digi has plans to release a 64bit ver and if so, would it amount to much of a performance difference? I know answering that question would be speculation but I am sure more than a few have done extensive homework on the subject.

Also, how does PTs operate in the 64bit mac environment?

Thanks!
