Default After a while, beeping, then no sound

Using PT 10 on a Windows 7 64 Bit. C1 Interface
I'm just playing back my session and it randomly beeps for a few seconds and then there's no sound. This happens every half an hour and is only fixed by restarting Pro Tools. No mutes or whatsoever,PT looks like it would be playing back the session but there is no audible sound. Itunes,Youtube work just fine,it's just Pro Tools having no sound.

Questions and concerns:
what is a "C1" interface?

I see a single hard drive. you NEED a separate(and approved) recording drive
4GB of RAM is dead minimum for Windows, never mind Pro Tools(I would double up exactly what you have, or replace with an 8 or 16GB RAM kit)

I never recommend i5 for Pro Tools(my own i5 build was a total bust for PT and I have several successful builds under my belt)

Is windows also using the "C1" for system sounds? If so, try setting Windows to use the onboard audio(assuming you have that option).

Are the beeps the same beep that happens on a system boot? If yes, count them and search beep codes for your motherboard as it may be trying to tell you something

This Interface:

http://www.thomann.de/de/steinberg_ci1.htm

I definitely see where you are coming from concerning the hardware side, but I did work with my set up for quite some time now,and it worked just fine. At the moment I really can't afford to gear up,I just want to keep making music.

I will try that, using the C1 only for Pro Tools.

It's not a system beep, more a high frequency sound and it stays there until I close pro tools, whether I hit stop or play or do anything else,I need to close Pro Tools.

What bugs me is that, why does it happen now,it worked just fine in the past.

That thread may SEEM to be it, but since its on a completely different setup, its probably not the same. Have you updated the drivers for the interface? Have you mentioned it on the Steinberg forum?(I would).
