Default vst wrapper

Hi,

I looked around for an answer to this question, but could not find anything.

I recently bought my own PT system (mbox mini and a mac book) and was curious about using my old Waves VST bundle that I had been using with Sonar. Will these work with a VST RTAS wrapper? Does it matter that I was using the Waves on a PC and now I am on a Mac?

Thanks,

Tony

You can only use Mac VSTs when using the VST Wrapper on a Mac.

If you have the relevent authorization for the Waves Bundle you can download the Mac-RTAS versions from the waves website.
Depending on what version of PT you're using you may have to pay Waves WUP to update your bundle to a compatible/newer version.
For what it's worth.. FXPansion VST to RTAS wrapper would not work with Waves plugins as they use Waveshell technology ie: 1 waveshell plugin in either your VST or Digidesign Plugin folder which in-turn refers to the .bundle plugins in the Applications / Waves folder.
The VST to RTAS wrapper needs individual .vst plugins to function.

I've never heard of a PC Vst plugin being copied to a MAC(much less using the PC installer on OSX either to install anything)..and then Used in PT's via VST wrapper to RTAS. Like the former ^ said..if you have a recent license, you should be able to download the RTAS/OSX version of waves with no problems.
