PTLE 7.4 & standalone Guitar Rig sharing Mbox
I have had PTLE and guitar rig 2 standalone running along side each other... simultaneously... Using an Mbox 2. Pro tools is happy to record stuff from the input I've been using (ie. Unprocessed guitar). Pro tools also seems quite happy playing back recorded tracks. At the same time the srandalone version of Guitar rig uses the input from the mbox, processes it and sends it out of the monitor out. It doesn't seem to matter which program I boot first either. I can't find anybody on the net who has experienced similar. Anybody else found you can use other core audio apps with digi hardware while pro tools is up and running? It works with iTunes too! You can have iTunes and pro tools le playing at the same time. I'm a little disturbed by it as everything I have read says it's not possible. Confused! Using Ptle 7.4cs3 mac 10.4.11intel

Re: PTLE 7.4 & standalone Guitar Rig sharing Mbox
I was under the impression that the core audio for the Mbox's was capable of running multiple devices ie. PT and iTunes. It's the original mbox that couldn't do this. Also if i remember rightly because i sent my Mbox 2 back, there is no longer a core audio manager for the Mbox 2 like there was for the original. I'm sure what your describing sounds normal?
Cheers

Re: PTLE 7.4 & standalone Guitar Rig sharing Mbox
Thanks for replying buddy! Boring subject I know but I was a bit surprised by it.
Maybe PTLE just essentially runs off core audio anyway but they don't advertise that. I called Digi and they couldn't recreate it but I'd be interested if other end users can. Thanks again for replying. |

Re: PTLE 7.4 & standalone Guitar Rig sharing Mbox
I have never had any problems using other audio apps simultaneously with my Mbox. (I am a bit of a rookie to PT though)
iTunes, Amplitube standalone, VLC, quicktime.... no issues.
