Default 6.7 Rocks!!!

some of you can complain and a few might have install problems but not me

6.7 installed perfectly and runs great!!!.

I think Digi didnt quite talk this upgrade up enough this time. There are tons of great features. I didnt see Digi talk about the fact the ReWire now supports 64 channels between apps. I can now multi output everything from Reason.

The plug-in settings box isnt just for synths.. it works on all plugs.

Tempow window looks good (very similiar to Opcode Vision that was out like 15 years ago)

Lets make this a positive thread and put new uses for the new features !!!!

Great job Digi!!!!!

But you had to setup outputs on a multiple mono plugin when using outs other than mix L&R from a rewire app, now they are all on a stereo rewire plugin.

I've only been a few times around the block with 6.7 but initial reaction is: excellent!

Tempo functions rock.

tick vs. samples. YES!

color coding!!! -- however, has anyone been able to assign a key command to the 'Show Color Palette" window? I have not been able to do this (OS 10.3.5 on a G5 dual 2.5) - what was great was assigning a color to the a verse, then a different color to a chorus, etc... flying elements around visually just went up a few notches of ease of use.

I'm looking forward to instrument plug developers implementing individual outs (for multi-timbral instruments).

I agree, Digidesign really downplayed this release... there's lots to it and it's probably the most significant "incremental" upgrade that I can remember. And it's free to 6.4 owners. Go figure. I'm having a good week.

Thanks to everyone at Digi for your contributions. I'll stop gushing now.

I don't really like the samples/ticks buttong on small track settings in the edit window. I will miss the voice allocation button that it replaced.

I also wished that they would have added more groups. It doesn't seem like it would be hard to get more than 26 groups. In fact when you import session data, it imports the groups but turns them off if there are more than 26.

I also don't like the change in the displayed (shortened) name on the insert and send buttons in small view.

What other display changes are there in store that I havn't discovered yet???

Default Re: 6.7 Rocks!!! Key command for Color Palette

Jeremy,

PT isn't in front of me but this is very close to how I made the key command. It will show up in the PT pull down menu if you're succesful.

Go to System Prefs - Keyboard Mouse - Keyboard Shortcuts - Scroll to bottom and select "All Applications" Navigate to PT6.7 application and select - a key creation dialog will appear. Put the exact wording of the Color Palette menu command in PT in the space provided - enter your preferred key command in its space and quit. You will have to shut down PT and re-launch. Maybe reboot the system. I don't remember. That's it. It's all in Mac help actually.
