Actually, this is what bothered me the most. Not having a proper answer a single time was really pissing me off.

Bugs happens. Not the first time I had to call à company for support but it's the first time I've found myself treated with such disregard. I know this is not an official way to get support from avid staff, but what have we left when companies are blaming each other for a bug.

You can notice than 11.1 is out and no word about that bug. As if it concerned only 2 folks on earth.

In my mind, when you buy a software you also buy the support for it.

In some areas of the computer software community, this is the ONLY thing that you pay for when you "buy software".

Just an update from the recording point of view of the new update, it seems to work perfectly, not had any issues at all with it at the moment. I have noticed now that when PT11 crashes (in any way) there is a box that appears where you can send the crash report straight to Avid, which I think is a bit of a step forward, but I certainly agree with the terrible customer support and leaving us all in the dark for a while!

I've been using Octa Capture on PT 11.1.
It does work but only on one buffer size.
Not sure if I should do the PT 11.1.2 update or not...

I can't believe you guys even got it to work in PT10. I get the "hardware not found or is in use" error with the Duo-Capture EX in PT10.

Although, Roland is not the only company to have this happen to me. I had a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 that did the exact same thing (gave me the error about hardware not found or is already in use) and I returned it because of that.

Funny how all these devices' ASIO drivers work perfectly in Cubase. So now whenever I need to do anything of substance, I just use Cubase.

Never had any problem with PT 10. Worked perfectly without a hitch.

It was PT 11 that initially caused problems and now it is mostly fixed with version 11.1. I can record, edit, mix, etc. just fine. It's only when changing sample rate do I still run into problems. I need to re-start PT with the Octa-Capture already set to the appropriate rate for things to run smoothly. Other than that, I'm OK...

Any hints on how you got it to work? What settings are you using? Under 11.2 I get out of CPU the second I hit play even on a totally empty project (with zero CPU use shown on the PT meters or OS meters - I'm on Window 7)

I put in a support ticket with Roland and got a reply back - after I already got my rig up and working. For what it's worth Roland said the issue should be fixed with the recent 11.2 upgrade - there was an issue and it's supposedly now fixed in PT11.2.

My issue was either drivers or buffer size - I messed with both at the same time and so I can't say which fixed things.
