Axiom Pro issues with instruments

Hi!

Controlling instruments in instrument mode with the axiom pro is a bit of a hassle for me, and I don't know if I changed something or if this is how it works.

Example: The axiom is sending midi cc messages when using the soft keys to go between pages of controls. So if I change the Drive in vacuum and then page forward on the axiom (soft key 4) to go to the next set of mapped controls, the drive is reset to zero!

Things happen in other VI's as well, one knob on the axiom controls one function on the VI by midi cc and another function via the mapping.

I know I can unlearn midi cc for each function in each VI, but I have to do it every time

Is this a known "feature" or can I set up the axiom in some way to prevent this?

Could someone who has an axiom pro please just check if it's my setup or if this is an issue with the axiom or PT?
Soft keys are sending midi cc 74 - 77 which are interfering with programming VIs.

Uninstalled PT (complete) and reinstalled it - no change.

And then I found another strange thing:
Had a track with an instrument in the first slot and a channel strip in the next one. I stepped from the instrument to the channel strip with the ins-button on the axiom pro and - they were both receiving from the axiom at the same time! It's repeatable. (Both inserts had the blue outline)

So, any help here would be great.. Can't really use hypercontrol with instruments the way it is right now. From one page to the next and the sound changes completely..

What version of PT?

Main issue is easy to check:
instrument track with vacuum. You can use any mode (instrument/insert) and just press the softkeys. For me soft key 1 (Home) resets Envelope one Attack. Key 2 resets LPF Cutoff, and so on.

Second issue was set up like this:

instrument track with the following plugins in this order.
Vacuum
Non-Lin reverb
Multi delay

Going from vacuum to the reverb seems to leave some control on vacuum and it stays outlined. Even pressing Ins again to go to the delay, vacuum is still outlined. And it receives midi cc, because i can hear the filter cutoff changing when I press Key 2.


My setup is this:

IMac 2010 model
Pro Tool 10.3.3
Axiom Pro 49

So I have a hackintosh i7-3930K with a gigabyte board running 10.8.2 Mountain lion. And PT9.06

Scenario one nor scenario two behaves like you described

Hyper control never reset another figure or control once I switched off of vacuum

And oh I forgot to tell you I do not have the reverb you had so I just pulled up air Kill eq by the air group

So I can switch between windows with both PI's open at the same time and the blue outline for hyper control switches between each window
And never resets another value on the one that is not Being hyper controlled

As well when I switch between the two my envelope one attack never resets when I switch to the EQ nor when i switch bt the different pages of vacuum - Nor the scenario with my low pass filter

So that being said I am running 9.6 on Mountain lion - You're running 10 on I don't remember what software

If you go to

set up / peripheral / midi controllers

My type is the M audio keyboard my received from is hyper control in and the sends is to hyper control out
and of course your number of channels is always eight

Ok, so something in my setup is off. Or something in PT10.3.3 is off. Or the axiom.
Setup is like yours, hypercontrol in/out 8 ch.

I tried with hybrid yesterday and the "Plugin" soft key changes the sound. Sounds like a filter..

Is it possible to "uninstall" the keyboard? Start from zero, so to speak. Reset to default doesn't change anything.

Oh, and could you check if you have midi cc assigned to for example vacuum by default? The controls I mentioned, filter cutoff and drive.

I just installed PT so I didn't learn any special midi cc's but
- I could check the ax's firmware

And I am assuming that ur using the Mac keys setup on ur keyboard right?

Don't know - doubt it b/c I didn't install anything - literally just installed my OS the other day and just plugged my keyboard in -

You ought to check the maudio website for the most current firmware also u ought to check a program that will show u the midi activity as u press each key

In windows it's a app called midiox but never had an issue with OSX
