Default Loud noise when I load session

Loud noise when I load session

I load a session and as PT is bringing it up there is a very loud static noise which then fades slowly.

Does anyone know what this is?

paul

I don't know specifically what would cause this - your post has a bare minimum of info, so we'll need to dig deeper.

Please start with the steps in the OS X Setup and General Troubleshooting sticky at the top of this forum, specifically those areas on trashing preference and database files and see if that helps at all.

I believe I read somewhere that I am not supposed to trash preferences??

More Info. I have a dozen tracks which were all running fine for weeks. I just started putting in 10 returns, verb, etc. I only have one track going to a return so far and a minimum of effects on. I actually loaded the fx returns/send template from the DVD, Mix It Like A Record w/Charles Dye. I had to change some of the effecs because I only have the free ones.

hope this helps, let me know what info. you might need.

I have the exact same Mac. Shortly after bringing it into the studio, it started making wierd noises....distortion, pops when record enabled and noise. Trashing "Digidesign Databases on all drives and going into Library/Preferences and deleting DigiSetup.OSX fixed everything up over here. Also I dont think that OSX 10.4.9 has been qualified by Digi yet.
