Pro Tools has encountered an unrecognized component
Getting two error messages, one saying a load of plugins aren't valid 64bit AAX plugins and failed to load and then once I bypass that to load Pro Tools without them I get a message saying Pro Tools has encountered an unrecognized component and must exit and closes the software.
Melodyne also gives me the same a similar error Has encountered a problem that prevents it from loading I am using: Windows 10 22H2 Running as an admin Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8500 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) Device ID 9979E500-BF70-4DDD-AAEB-6D33E05B214C Product ID 00328-10000-00001-AA042 System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display Version 22H2 Installed on 19/06/2023 OS build 19045.3031 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0 |

Re: Pro Tools has encountered an unrecognized component
I would not run Pro Tools as admin. because the software assumes that you are not.

Re: Pro Tools has encountered an unrecognized component
To expound on Bob's point a bit; this was the recommended method back in the Windows 7 days, but once Win10/11 hit, that's not the case anymore. In fact, I have stopped running the installer as Admin too(for a good 2 years). As for the message about the plugins, if you're sure you have the latest versions downloaded directly from the manufacturer's website, that rarely happens, but don't trust downloads from any other location(sometimes googling for downloads actually takes you somewhere that's not where you think(learned the hard way)

Re: Pro Tools has encountered an unrecognized component
I would start by moving all of your third party plugins to the unused folder and seeing if Pro Tools will load. If it will not load with only the stock plugins, then you either have system (OS) issues or Pro Tools is not installing properly.
Make sure you are installing Pro Tools to your system drive. If Pro Tools loads with the stock plugins, the next step would be to shut down PT, move the third party plugins back one at a time until you get the error you were originally seeing. Once the offending plugin has been identified, you will need to determine why it does not load. Make sure it is the latest version and is indeed an AAX64 plugin. If not, I would contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say. |

Re: Pro Tools has encountered an unrecognized component
I’d start by providing the key piece of info which is what exact version of Pro Tools are you running.
Lots of the other info you have given is irrelevant and worse I would not be sharing things like ID info publicly. This is not an unique problem and there are many threads about this findable with Google search. https://www.google.com/search?q=Pro+...3Aduc.avid.com Or https://www.google.com/search?q=Pro+...+component%22& |
