Please recommend a new audio interface

Upgrading to PT12 and my trusted mbox2 is now obsolete…

Since mbox3 is no longer available (except for ebay), what other equivalent audio interfaces do others recommend for a substitute of the mbox 2? I can't afford the new Duet, so I need to keep it aroun $350.

I would look at focusright. Although like all vendors they have had driver issues, their support folks are more responsive than most.

Or just go onto sweetwater's web site and sort by price and start looking and then ask here if any really interest you.

+1 on the Focusrite interfaces. For that budget it is the best sounding option out there today. I would look at a 8i6 or similar unit.

After El Capitan turned my Avid M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R into a brick I got a Focusrite Saffire PRO 26 and never looked back.

FWIW, my Mbox 2 PRO works fine on PT12 and Windows Having said that, I would look at Focusrite, RME, MOTU, and UA if you wish to track with, and use UAD plugins(with any non-UA interface, its not feasible to track with UAD plugins due to latency).

The Focusrite 6i6 looks like a similar unit, and seems to be what I would go for.

PT now works with almost all brands correct? Avid just only "supports" what they list on the knowledgebase correct?

Also, mbox2 will still work, it just isn't supported anymore or it will not work at all with PT12?

Yes, PT 12 will work with any manufacturer, and the mbox should work as well.

Focusrite 18i20 here, I'm happy with it.
