Default Outboard Gear Problems PT10

Hey Guys,

I have the Antelope Orion 32in/32out and the dangerous source as a monitor output that's getting fed from the antelope via SPIDIF.

I have an outboard compressor i would love to use, so i take lets say analog output 5 from the antelope interface into the compressor back into input 5 of the orion.

When I do that, there is just a feedback loop. I make sure I default all my inputs and all my outputs and all my inserts ETC.

When I try inserting the compressor in PT it doesn't pass the signal.

Any thoughts?

You need to assign paths for hardware inserts in one tab of the IO setup page(and yes, they need to be matching numbers as you tried)

Search the manual for "Hardware Inserts"

I have everything correct in the I/O setup.

I just don't get how this doesn't work. It's very simple.

Analog output 5 of the Antelope Orion 32 into the input of the Compressor back out of the compressor back in input 5 of the orion. I don't even have anything inserted and it's just causing a feedback loop within the compressor. So there has to be something wrong before PT right?

I've seen people do this the exact way I'm doing it and it works for them!

I think I'm losing my mind! lol
