Default How does Destructive Punch perform on your machine(s)?

I usually print all my mixes with Destructive Punch. I record 5 mono and 2 stereo tracks (Stereo Master and Stems) in one go, while watching with the producer. Then I have to apply the fixes, and at that point, the system is getting really seriously sluggish. Mouse click and keyboard entry has to be repeated sometimes to be recognised. No crashes though, no SWODs, transport and punch not sluggish.
The Workaround is to switch to normal record mode, apply fixes, switch to DP and punch in on fixes.
(BTW session length 40 min, 25-30 playback tracks, lots of edits/automation, spotlight disabled)

I have adapted to that behaviour and it's not a real problem, I just wonder if it could be different?
How does your destructive punch perform?

Default Re: How does Destructive Punch perform on your machine(s)?

it's either your G5 or your hard disk system. I destructive punch/record 90% of the time on mac pros with internal satas and there are no lag issues recording a 5.1 mix, 5.0dx stem, and 2channel LtRt, and at times an additional 5.1 m&e. At times I am using up to 120 voices with all the routing/bussing.
