Default Motherboards again

This question is directed toward Digi tech support. I'm going to build my own system to run Mix Plus. I've read threads here mentioning other motherboards that work, including Asus P3BF and IWill DBL 100. However, the only approved board listed in the compatibility documents is the SE440BX. I'd like to use a motherboard that has more PCI slots for future expansion with additional farm cards, etc., and the Intel only has 3 PCI slots Are there any others, possibly the ones above that are specifically approved by Digidesign? Thanks.

I cant really give any information on this
issue(I dont know) I will at this point leave
it up to other users to provide personnel experience about what they are using to answer
the question. I will look into the possibilty

I have :
mixplus running on:
Asus P3BF
Pentium 650 (Slot)
256MB SDRAM running at 100MHz
ATI xpert @ play video
Iwill 2930 UW SCSI (Advansys chip)
IDE boot drive
IBM 18GB UW scsi drive (for audio)
I have tried the old MusicQuest MQ16 as a midi card, but I'm lookig to get an opcode 64x instead

I've tried the cards in
PCI slots 1/2 - OK
PCI slots 4/5 - OK
PCI slots 5/6 - OK

on the ASus P3bf, pci slot 4/5 share IRQs,
and I think pci slot 6 shares with 1

It's great to put the digi cards further
down the motherboard, as I can actually
mount some hard disks in line with Slot 1-3
(as the mixplus cards are very long!!!!)

another warning - the digi cards have a long backplate, that can make it difficult to insert them all the way at the back of the motherboard

good luck
tony

THe only fault is I'm getting occasional DAE 87 errors, But I think the audio drive's NTFS partition is odd, sometimes I can't copy files into it

- -the DAE 87 errors were because PT went back to using the IDE boot drive, and ran out of space!!!
