Default Euphonix artist

Hey guys,

Is there any reason why one shop in my town is selling the MC control for about a thousand dollars cheaper than others?

Is there an older version of the controller that I should avoid purchasing if I am going to grab some soon?

1k cheaper seems the way to go but maybe its the older vesion before they implemented nudge button allowing D-Command style nudging with jog wheel for example?

Cheers

I bet that Brad guy has set up shop and is undercutting Sweetwater to put them out of biz.

That's probably the older version, which was replaced by version 2. And that was before Avid bought the company.

Version 2 would probably be the way to go, as I'm sure for the time being any changes Avid would make with an already well designed product would be in the area of firmware/software.

Avid raised the prices on all Artist products since they purchased Euphonix.

LOL Pirate.

Well there are a few things that happened here......

MC CONTROL V2 was coming out so they dropped the price of the MC CONTROL down to about $1050 or so. The V2 finally started shipping and that price went back back to the normal $1499. THEN AVID purchased Euphonix, raised the price $400 and voila you now have this massive difference in price, but the V2 is MUCh better than the original. The new model has very bright LED lighting, making it more consistent and easier to read. Likewise the touch display is better, or so I'm told. I have the V2 myself, I like it.

Thank you for your replies. I will definately buy a V2. So much for saving a thousand bucks.

But what about the MC MIX? Is there a drastic difference in V1 / V2 there? Maybe I can pinch a penny on the mixes?

Does it also have a 10 frame latency in Protools??

woah this is frightening stuff to hear. Based on the overall happyness with this product I would guess the issue lies in your system elsewhere?

Nope its a HUI issue.

3 systems all same issues.
They need to implement Eucon protocol into Protools, not HUI emulation.

Well most are certain eucon is in the pipeline.

Anyways is the mc mix only one version?
Or does a v1 and v2 exist like the mc control?
