Default Windows XP Crash Dumps with LE 6.4 and Digi001

I have a Dell XPS gaming Pent 4 running Windows XP Home and SP3. I have no issue installing the Digi001 Driver but when i install Protools LE 6.4 upon restart the system goes into Windows and then promptly gives me a blue screen crash dump: IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, Stop x0000000A

I've turned off hyperthreading in the bios as well as antivirus, firewall and have no security sw. i've also pulled the sound card on this system.

There's got to be something i'm missing here. any help greatly appreicated.

Try downloading and installing the latest Pace Interlock drivers from PACE.com.

Make sure that nothing is sharing the IRQ with the card. Also try moving the card to a different PCI slot. IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is often a driver conflict.

thanks.

move digi001 to different pci slot and downloaded pace updates to similar crash result.

in safe mode i uninstalled protools and restarted windows and noted that the digi001 and the single pci-e display card are using interrupt 19

i cannot change this resourse allocation on either the digi001 or the graphics card as "use automatic settings" in device mgr resource tab is greyed out on both devices.

not sure how to proceed...
is there way to phsically change irq on digi001? would using XP with SP2 and not SP3 make any difference here?

any comment appreciated.

Have you applied the cs6 and cs9 updates for 6.4?

Thanks. Even with the two cs packs I get exact same blue-screen/error msg.

I've tried a different graphics card, a pci, non pci-e to same crash result.

I tired a different Windows XP box, to exact same crash result.

Just don't get it. This Digi001/LE 6.4 was working on a mac.

One odd thing, I've never had to enter my serial number into protools le. It just doesn't ask for it.

My guitar is gently weeping as I wonder lost.

FWIW I have a 001 running on a newer (2006ish) ASUS PCIe board (P5LD2) and it runs fine with SP3 and Cs6 + Cs9.

You tried a different graphics card? Same brand (ATI? nVidia?) Was it using the same IRQ? If both cards were the same you might try a different manufacturer.

Is the boards BIOS up to date? I'm wondering id DELL has something locked down in the BIOS. Some of the old XPS's ran what were essentially Intel reference boards with custom BIOSes.

Can you try it in a Mac again to verify the 001 card itself isn't broken? It seems odd that it failed on 2 PC's.

Can you run Digitest?

I put together 3-4 001 systems running on modern MBs and they have all been flawless.

You mean Authorization code not serial# I assume?

thanks for your helpful commnets.
as suggested it was graphics issue.
i took another Dell system running XP which has an embedded vga graphics built into system board and it is running. it does ask for my digi activation rather than the blue screen i had on the other system as well.

i would prefer to use the xps dell system as it is overclocked but can't have it all in this case.
