Panning Automation Not Showing Up In MP3

Hi All,
This is my first post and I'm still very new to Pro Tools. I just finished my third class at Berklee on it.

So, I wrote panning automation on a synth bass track. I put it in Write mode and just manipulated the pan knob as the track played. I put it back into read mode and it works just fine when I play the session in Pro Tools. But once I bounce it to an MP3 and play it from my iPod, there is no panning automation. The track just stays centered. This has happened in two different sessions/songs. I thought maybe it was because I didn't have a stereo master fader on it (I had a mono one) but that didn't make a difference. Any help is appreciated!
