Bug report: VCA won't follow group

I just stumbled upon this:
I have a drum mix group that has different types of tracks in it- some audio, some aux and one VCA. They're grouped together (not set to follow global) and set to follow volume and mute.
When I ride any fader in the group, the VCA one doesn't follow.
When I ride JUST the VCA, the rest of the group doesn't follow.

That's a new one...

VCAs supersede mix groups.

1) is your VCA part of the group you are trying to control ??
2) when i remove the VCA from the group the VCA moves all the other faders
3) the other tracks (other than VCA) work properly .. you can move them within the group tied to the VCA ..

so, i do not think this is broken ..

what did i miss in testing this ???

The VCA is part of the group I'm automating. None of the grouped tracks are part of the VCA's VCA group.

since i do not use VCA's that much .. i do see if i put the VCA back in the Group and turn off the VCA group that if you move all your group faders down (all but the VCA) that if you hit Command Key and the VCA Fader all the other faders will go to UNity (0) ..

is this normal behavior ??

haha .. i am trying to do exactly what you are doing and understand why you use this workflow ..

i need to bone up on VCA's as i do not seem to be much help and do not want to waste your time ..

No worries! Thanks for chiming in!
VCA's are a great way to do a little different kind of automation on faders brought over from my mixing-on-SSL-days...

copy that .. i have seen it in action on consoles but was never the driver for those sessions ..

time to crack the manual !!!
