How to create own drum kit?
Hi, forgive me for any ignorance, I am very much a pro tools newbie.
Also, I'm working on Pro Tools 10. Essentially, I have a bunch of single wav drum samples (kick, snare, hh, etc) that I want to assemble into a MIDI/Virtual instrument on Pro Tools, so I can use the Pencil Tool to create a beat for the project I'm working on. Again, these are files I will be importing from outside of Pro Tools; I don't want to use the available built-in drum kits. Thanks a million! |

Re: How to create own drum kit?
You should be able to use Structure (Free?) to trigger your samples.
Here's a video on using Structure in Pro Tools and how to import your own samples. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLikkzouzls

Re: How to create own drum kit?
You could also use Boom. Should be in your plugins list.
It's a beat box drum machine type VI, so it has sounds and beat patterns ready. It should just be a matter of drag-and-drop to insert your own samples. |

Re: How to create own drum kit?
I don't believe you can put your own samples into Boom...unless I missed something big in the last update???

You're absolutely right. I checked the documentation. I was so shure I had done it before, but it must have been some other dum machine plugnin. Sorry. |

That had to be a ton of work!! Thanks for sharing that. I remember Russ saying something about a while back, but I didn't ever check to see if he'd actually done it!

Re: How to create own drum kit?
I've watched that video several times, and I don't find what I'm wanting to see: it seems like he's showing us how they have re-mapped the files to allow the inclusion of samples that they have apparently provided for bass and snare. Am I continously missing how to get MY samples into it?
