Trying to download but don't have interface serial #

I just bought PT 9 from Sweetwater as a digital download. Installed my iLok and tried to download it. I was using an MBox 2 Pro to occasionally edit Pro Tools sessions for people. Now with PT 9 I want to use it with my Metric Halo ULN 8.

I am on location 2000 miles from my studio and have no idea what my Mbox serial number is. Avid won't let me download PT9. Any suggestions?

You have to have the serial number to the eligible product in order to perform the authorization. The dealership should have informed you about this at the time of purchase.

Phone somebody and get them to email or just cite it over the phone?

Sometimes I also have the feeling my interfaces are thousand of miles away. Who shall judge that. You need the interface to prove that you own it which makes you valid for the update fee.

I take it the serial number is the authorisation code you would use when installing say protools 8 and it asks for the authorisation code. :-/

No wrong. The serial number is a small sign on the backside of your interface. Has nothing to do with authorization codes.

When you registered your hardware you should have had a page up on your computer that said Print this for your records. Even if you don't have a printer you may have saved it as a PDF?. Otherwise, on the 002, on the back is a sticker that clearly says Serial Number xxxxxxx xxxxxxx.

I need only a HW Serial Number its that right? I dont must have a registered le 8 on my avid account? So i can take a HW Serial and then download PT 9 and register and activate on my Ilok?

If you purchased PT"HD"9 then it is asking for the serial number on your HD Core card. If you meant to purchase PT9 and instead purchased PTHD9 then you need to somehow return what you purchased.
