Default Pops and Clicks with HD Native

This is weird.

Yes, I'm on an old Mac Pro Harpertown, 8 gigs, audio running off SSD internal.

When I first got HD Native, I opened a 100 track session with plug ins and it played fine.

Today, and at times this week, I've had sessions with far fewer tracks and plugs, and 128 buffer am getting clicks. EVEN got some at 256. Tried using 6 processors, got worse.

I'm just wondering if plug ins can cause this, as the Lexicon LXP reverbs, of which I used 3, are the only new plug in I'm using.

All the while my System Usage showed only about 1/4. So this thing should not have had any trouble. No delay comp either. Crazy.

Anyone else experience this?

Tom

yeah...SSD reliability is definitely better but i don't think the verdict is all the way in yet. anyway...go to your playback engine setting and you'll see how much you have available to you for disk cache. this test will give you a clear indication if it's the SSD tho...

also FWIW...remember in Logic only your record track(s) use your chosen low buffer setting. the playback tracks alway use a large buffer for playback...1024 IIRC...a very efficient way to run things...
