There is a real drawback in finding RTAS plugins these days. All but impossible, I tend to rely on what I already have; SampleTank, Melodyne, AD Drums,

I have Kontakt and some other things that came with my Triple Play guitar midi pickup - but I can't locate them right now (I think they were all downloads and I am not sure where they went).

IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A GOOD REPOSITORY FOR RTAS DOWNLOADS - ESPECIALLY SAMPLERS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
If you're looking for current plugins - you'll have some difficulty getting RTAS support. NI dropped it years back. You may get lucky and find aax32 support though. I'm guessing you have Sampletank 2.5 right? To my mind that was the best version they've put out. Not bloated and what you could/can do with samples up and down the keyboard was genius.

Have a look here: https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/fre...ls-plug-ins-1/

And here: https://www.kvraudio.com/q.php

Another option is Blue Cat Audio's PatchWork and use VST plug-ins: https://www.bluecataudio.com/Product...uct_PatchWork/

Running PT10HD with RME UFX on Win10. Runs great, solid performance.
Also have editing rigs with 003 Rack on Win10 and 003 console on Win10, all good.
Have PT12HD but no longer installed, video engine stinks (and other issues).

I never went beyond PT10. The last ten years I have been retired because of eplepsy and other neurological problems. But the nature of my illness is such that I have good periods, and then it's good that I have a partition on my mac pro 3,1 with a complete finetuned PT10 setup to play around with. My trusted old dynaudio BM6p monitors, a Apogee Duet interface, a Command8 in a reasonably well sounding room which is my living room.

PT10 runs great on that 10 year old mac with lots of ram and SSDs on PCIe card.

An old friend just sent me a session, recorded by my old band, to see if I have some mixing magic left in me.

WOW, I'm still on 9, rock solid, except elastic audio warbles. But if I move up I'll probably loose my my effects that came bundled with my 9. I need effects.

Are the stocks effects in 2019 good, or limited ?

This is why I don't use plugins that come with a daw if I can help it. That way if/when I change daws or get a new version I don't lose what I know the sound of. I may get the rare one that becomes 'incompatible' (B4II) though.

I recently upgraded (finally...) from PT9 to 2019.6. Just go to the AVID site and read-up on the included plugs. It's cool/stable/better.

I'm still using PT10 daily. Don't need anything better.

Now I dared to upgrade to AMD Ryzen 5 processor and Windows 10 and it works. I was looking for this kind of info around here before buying my new PC and nothing was clear or I wasn't able to find it.

I only could read people advising everyone against AMD CPUs for ProTools.

I'm still using PT10, as I have no need to go any higher.

When I still had my studio south of Nashvegas, v10 was the newest, but since I had to close up shop a several years ago, I didn't have a need for anything newer. Now that I'm getting back into it, and only part time, it's simply not worth the money for me to upgrade everything and go to this *stupid* subscription.
