Default Upgrading to 003 Rack

Hello,

My 002 Rack has finally bit the dust. I am looking at replacing it with a used 003 Rack. I would like to now if this will be a seamless transition.

iMac 2.4 GHz Intel
10.6.8
PT 7.4.2
MPTK

What do I need to make this happen?

Thanks in advance!

Can someone please point me in the direction to get the proper driver?

Thanks!

Or will my Digi Core Audio Manager 7.4.2 also work with the 003?

You can download the latest drivers here:http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...02-003-Drivers I'm not sure if the 003 drviers are included with PT 7.4 or not, sorry (here's the compatibility grid).

If you have LE7.4, I suspect it will be as simple as connecting the 003(with everything powered OFF), booting the system, pop the 7.4 installer disk in(if you have it) and letting the computer recognize a new piece of hardware and install the driver for it(and due to the similarity between the 002 rack and 003 rack, it may not even need THAT).

I sure hope it's that easy. I don't have a PT7 disc as it was an upgrade from PT6. I'll find out tomorrow when I pick up the 003.

You could download the installer from your MyAvid account(where you could also recover the authorization code you need for a new installation)

OK, so I just plugged in the 003, started Pro Tools, and I am getting this notice. Should I update even though I don't use PT8?

I went ahead and selected later and it seems to be working fine for now, although it gives me the same message every time I load PT. Should I do it?

How does this work, does it also install PT8 along with the firmware? I get the notice every time now. Should I do it?
