2022.9 and Waves broken

Monterey 12.6, PT 22.9, MacBook Pro (15', 2017)

All waves plugs refused to load. I hadn't upgraded since Waves v.9.

Call Waves sales to ask about upgrading to v.14:

They offered me a coupon that brought the price for an upgrade to "Diamond" to $90 without additional cost for all plugs or any new plugs.

The deal also offered two free plugs from a long list of useful stuff. I got the Clavinet and the Rhodes-a-like.

Pushed a few "load new stuff" buttons. Everything was back not only on PT, but Logic Pro, Digital Performer (latest v.), and Reaper (latest v.) (although I'm not sure about Waves problems with Reaper)

I don't work for Waves and only use a half dozen of their plugs regularly.

Thought there would be more work involved. But other than the $90 bucks... not too painful.

This looks like another weird issue that is impossible to track down as the symptoms have no consistency between setups. I have zero issues on Win 10, running various plugs from v10-v14.

(Also general point - people love to rag on Waves, but I have a lot now that I think are excellent and some which have no real competitors. Also Waves Central - which used to be like a bomb going off in your system every time it was launched - has been entirely trouble free for over a year).

I could have done without the expense, but I've WUPed and upgraded my old plugs to v14 and all now seems well on Mojave.

I uninstalled all the previous waveshells via the 'central' app, and there is now just v14 & 14.2 in the plugin folder.

Mojave, on Mac 5,1. Waves v9 was working fine...now I've been getting Waveshell crashes all day...different plug ins..maxbass, L3 in particular.



Has anyone upgraded to the latest wave versions and does it fix the issue?

I am running Mojave on a Mac Pro (Late 2013) and upgraded just the Wave plug-ins I still use (or need to keep for past projects) to v14. I was running v9 but had crashes with 2022.9. Upgrading to v14 seems to have fixed the issues. When you upgrade to v14, Waves says it is not compatible with the OS when installing, but I just hit 'continue' and they all upgraded without issues. Other studios had mentioned this....

Waves v9 came out in 2012, so it's had a good run... If you WUP just the ones you need, it shouldn't be too much money.

22.9/Version 13 in Windows 11 works fine here.

To everyone with older Waves plugins (Waveshell 9, 10,11) and PT 2022.9 with Mojave:
The plugins open when inserted on a channel, but crash PT when removed....

If you do not want to upgrade to Waveshell 14 (and pay WUP) just use Audiogridder:

I run most waves plugin still Version 12 on 3 mojave machines as I had no problems in the past. I have mercury and Abbeyroad installed. I decided not to upgrade although I had WUP.
Some newer Plugins are V13 and 14.
At least my current template plugs work (5 waves plugs)
