Default I Imported a Track Then Recorded Midi Track Now Changed My Tempo

Hi,

I imported a track from another session. Forgetting this will import the old sessions tempo along with this imported track. I didn't realize this until many midi parts are now recorded.

Of course I want my new session to display the right tempo I created this session in. Problem is every time I go to change my tempo back to my original tempo for my new session it shifts all my midi parts to the right, placing all my original midi parts I recorded previously in wrong spots.

To top it off all midi parts I recorded the other day that were I recorded them in the right tempo now in wrong sync too.

How can I change back my tempo to my original tempo and prevent all my midi parts from changing to wrong spots in the song?

Thanks

Hi,

All tracks doing midi should be in "tick based" (not sample) then they should stay true to position when tempo is changed.

Chris

Hi Chris,

I tried this and your right on midi tracks but now its also shifting my printed wave form files to wrong place.

I closed session reopened session tried changing all tracks to ticks now it's still changing midi to wrong place.

OK I had to be innovative to make this work.

I got all new midi tracks now in correct tempo. I saved this session. Opened an earlier session with other midi parts already recorded in right tempo and imported all my new midi parts into this session. Now they're all in the right tempo.

I wish you tick idea would have worked. Would have saved me a lot of time n trouble.

Thank you

Tracks set to sample-based > change tempo > switch back to tick-based.

That's if tracks play back correctly, but displays wrong.
