Narrow SCSI: adaptec 2906
UW scsi ATTO is the only good one. All adaptec UW's are not supported. Cheaper option: copy all your FX to a FW drive.

Digi just announced the availability of the SCSI-128 kit. You get the ATTO UL3D Dual Channel Ultra3 SCSI Host Adapter and two cables. If you're using Ultra SCSI 3 LVD drives, that's the way to go; otherwise just the SCSI 64 kit will be just fine.

Thanks for the input.I'm guessing that Atto is the way to go but the drives that I have are LW's and not LVD's,does that matter??

I have been told yesterday by a qualified technician (not from digidesign) who assembles PT configs all day, that Atto works best for Pro Tools, period. Seems OSX compatibility is also very good, disks mount without the slightest hitch.

Footprints,

I think you're looking at 350 to 400 clams at least:

http://store.yahoo.com/atto/hostadapters.html

I suggest checking the PT compatibility list to get an idea of which one to go for.

hope that helps!

Greg:

Thank for the link and I'll check out the

compatibility list and see what I can find.

Who new how much is involved when you try to

upgrade your rig.I guess it's true, IF IT

AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.......
