M-Audio ProjectMix I/O Windows 10 No Sound
I have a M-Audio ProjectMix I/O running on Windows 10 and for some reason I cannot get any sound to my speakers, I have gone into the Control panel> Sound and changed every setting I can think of but when I press play I can see the session is playing but it doesn't show any audio in the sound section, now if I open a browser and play YouTube I can see the sound is going into the windows sound the meter shows audio movement but I can't make that sound come out of my monitors either, I have checked the monitors and they work, I reloaded the firewire drivers the Projectmix HUI works perfect but No sound, I'M thinking it some Windows sound setting but I'M lost, Please Help Thank you

Re: M-Audio ProjectMix I/O Windows 10 No Sound
Changing every setting you can think of is not really a good method of troubleshooting. Step by step:
1-make sure you have installed the latest driver 2-Go to Control Panel>Sound>Properties and set Windows to NOT use the PM as its default playback device(so only Pro Tools uses the ProjectMix) 3-hold the N key while opening Pro Tools to navigate to the window to select the "audio engine" and select the Project Mix(if its not already selected). If none of this helps, check the link above named Help Us Help You and paste a Sandra report as you may have an incompatible firewire controller(Most audio apps work best with a TI chipset for firewire), Dells can be a crapshoot regarding FW controllers, and general compatibility.

Re: M-Audio ProjectMix I/O Windows 10 No Sound
Which driver are you using for Windows 10? There have been a few people reporting success with the last Windows 7 driver. No guarantees as the unit was dropped from support a few years back.

Re: M-Audio ProjectMix I/O Windows 10 No Sound
Mine is working fine in Win 10, using the last Win 7 drivers. I'm guessing it is something with routing in the M-Audio control panel..
Also, I make sure Windows doesn't use my audio interface for any computer sound (Windows, YouTube etc.), as that can interfere with the ASIO connection to my DAW. Joel

Re: M-Audio ProjectMix I/O Windows 10 No Sound
I finally gave up on the M-Audio Projectmix I/O and bought a Digidesign Digi 003. The Digidesign Digi 003 worked perfect from the start, loaded the drivers and it worked perfect, plus it doesn't disconnect from the computer sound and HUI all the time requiring reloading of the drivers and reconnecting the firewire connection... Just my Two Cents... Glad to have my studio back up and running without all of the problems I personally was having with the M-Audio projectmix I/O, Thank you
