What is your price range? I have a pair of Genelec 1029A's, and for their size, I think that they translate well. However, I am sure that in various price ranges, you will get multiple opinions as to what is the "best" monitor to get for "real world" results.

And of course, familiarizing yourself with whatever set of monitors you get is the key to getting good results out of them.

Happy hunting, G.

Gotcha. Disregard my prior post, then. I am sure that others will post with more specific recommendations, one thing that I find useful is to find a "boom box" with aux ins to monitor on. It saves me trips out to the car, but gives me an idea of what my mixes will sound like on "consumer" products.

Actually, now that you mention it, I probably have several other "consumer" sources to use, such as various "computer speakers" that have come bundles with PCs purchased in the past, or the pair of Audix PH-3's that I have sitting on a shelf...

I know that this isn't exactly the reply that you're looking for, but I thought I'd share, nonetheless.

Later, G.
