Mbox 2 Mini Stuttering/Glitching Playback

Hi

I'm new to the forums and have come in search of help with some hardware.

I'm using an Mbox 2 Mini for audio playback with a new i5 MacBook Pro and all of a sudden if the mbox has ben plugged in for a while the playback starts to glitch and stutter. If I take the usb out of the computer and put it back in again it fixes it. I'm using it for live shows so obviously this is a serious issue!

I've tried reinstalling the driver and I even reverted back to and old one and no different!

anyone? I've searched and come up with an answer. I have a show next week and am on the verge of having to buy a different soundcard if I can get this working!! Help!!

Oh a brave Pro Tool live user...

Unfortunately there is almost no useful info here. Lots more info is needed... start at the "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!" link on this web page.

At a minimum include...

Exact Pro Tools version. Playback Engine IO buffer size.

Computer model/spec. CPU spec, Memory, make/model/spec of all your hard drives, including your normally required dedicated audio/session drive. Exact Os version.

Is the computer fully optimized, *every* last thing in the optimization instructions done?

Interface make/model and driver version, ...

And describe just what it is you are doing, what is in the PT session, what is connected via MIDI, digital IO, etc. what if any external clocking is used, etc.

Have you gone through the Optimization Guide? What version of OSX are you running, and driver version?

Thanks guys. Before getting into all of that, I'm not using img with Pro Tools. Just as a sound card. It was working fine.

I'm starting to think this is Yosemite issue?

Posting computer specs ect isint going to help me thinks :-(

Hi Guys

I'm after searching through the forums again and still haven't really found any answers.

I can make both my Mbox 2 Pro and my Mbox 2 Mini work by installing the original drivers but the stuttering playback happens after a while.

With the most recent drivers neither of my boxes even get a green light. Seems to quite common here.

I'm not using it with Pro Tools either. Just as a sound card for Qlab etc.

Can Avid not come up with a solution here? Do I really have to go buy a 3rd external sound card to playback on my shows because Avid can't fix this?

I'm absolutely shocked by the level of support from Avid on this.
