I agree re: PT vs Logic - but Pro Tools won me over when they introduced the Eleven Rack and it's fantastic integration with PT - since deprecated sadly.

I have removed all plugins - trashed prefs - tried 3 different audio interfaces - rosetta on/off - PT either crashes when loading a session or plays for < 10 seconds and freezes.

I think the ancient (in tech terms) under-pinnings of Pro Tools are really coming home to roost.

I could wipe-and-reload my MBP and I may but I think it's time for me to move on/back to LPX.

Hi there....

I created a case and asked the head of the tech team to assign this asap.

Case # 04775201

They need to determine if it is PACE, macOS o PT related and how to help you. It would be good to get some crash reports and log files from the system so if they ask here is how to do that.

Pro Tools crash reports:

Pro Tools log files:

Lets give this a whirl before you jump ship.

Thank you Marianna.

I have several crashlogs in the location indicated.
I've replied to the email. Glad to try to work through this.
My strong preference is a working, robust Pro Tools setup.

i'll try deleting wavecaches and pt prefs tomorrow.

Thanks.

For those of you who are having flickering and scrolling issues you might want to make sure your display refresh rate is set to a fixed rate and not variable. I have run into these kinds of weird issue in the past with Pro Tools and that fixed the problem for me. I have it set to 120 Hertz and all is good now. You could give it a go.

Nice suggestions Zoe! Had not thought of that.

Again - I very much appreciate the effort to help me.

The response says I need to install a supported OS.
Reverting to 14.3 on Apple Silicon is a massive PITA.
No - you can't do it via Time Machine - try it.
Using recovery mode to reinstall the OS will reinstall, yes, 14.4.

This is not worth the effort.

I'm going to mess around with LPX and who knows - maybe Apple or AVID or PACE will release a fix before I get too far down that road.

As it stands I can't even get PT working enough to export anything.

Thanks, good suggestion but my refresh rate is fixed at 60 hertz. HDR is also off. The flickering only happens on clips with transparency though.

Quick question for you guys who are on Sonoma. How are your plugins working? I have not seen many plugins manufactures who are giving the go ahead. Also can you list the Sonoma version you are on with your answer?

Thanks in advance!

Mine all seem to be working great. UAD, Waves, PA, Liquid sonics, Softube, iZotope and a boatload of others. No complaints so far...
