Default what sound effect?

im making a video of an interview, where i have synced up the audio and video i have taken. i now want to add a bit of background music to it, but i have the problem that it doesnt fit properly, as the music stands out too much as it doesnt sound like it was actually in the video in the first place, if you know what i mean.

does anyone know what effect i would need to put on the music to make it sound like it was recorded in the room with the interviewee? so it has a little white noise in it sort of thing? sorry about the description its pretty bad. i cant explain it very well. please someone help!
