TL Aggro (thumbs up) and Eventide Omnipressor are both pretty whacky..
Tritone Squeezetone will surely contain impulses from Distressor.

If Squeezetone is anything like Hydratone it'll certainly be fun (even if not acurate)

Eventide Omnipressor
Yep, Distressors are the 2nd gen of this classic. Only problem is the plugin does not sound like a Omnipressor. Similar characteristics though.

TL Aggro is the saddest plugin I've tested in along time! Sorry, but it doesn't do me no good at all, luck I didn't buy it, but just tried the demo... Smack is quite fun on some things...
Bought a couple of dbx163x on ebay, thumbs up!

No I haven't bought it yet, Dutch.
After UA reduced their prices, I'm starting to think like a true
scotsman, I guess..
I mean, it's really good for a plug,
but not entirely twice as good as UA1176.
It shines on bass snares and vox IMO. At least if you're into
ampeg'ed fenderism, beefy ludwigs and a vocalist with some
hair on the chest..
The compression behaves more like I'm used to in the
analog domain, not on/off like so many of them do.
The bass compensation has a beautiful filter, it integrates
the two sections rather than making them sound parallel (ks C4, anyone?)
But half of the mojo is in the almost childish GUI.
The easy interface with big kobs makes it fast to work with, and also quick to
reset different settings on the spot without dozens of snapshots.
Me like, me want.

Couldn't we apply for a group buy?

regards,
ruudman

I have 3 distressors and a fatso. Quite versatile for both tracking and mixing. No plugin comes real close, but if you want to cut thru mix try slightly rude compressor. BF LA3 ok on bass.

As an owner of 2 Distressors and tons of HD plugin Comps, they are totally different. I suggest getting one a tracking the specific instruments through the distressor if you need the sound. However I have been using the SMACK plugin more and more and think it is a terrific compressor plugin. To me it has the most "analogue" quality if used right.
