Is 11.3.2 just an update or a reinstall?
I haven't gotten around to updating to V12 yet, but will soon.
I'm currently on 11.3.1. I'm interested in a non-Avid plugin that requires 11.3.2. I downloaded the readme and I'm downloading the installer now, but I'm curious: is the update from 11.3.1 to 11.3.2 a painless update process? Or does it require a reinstall? The readme doesn't say anything about installing.

It was a full install for me, but I never ran 11.3.1.
Back up what you have if you plan on overwriting.

Just discovered that 11.3.2 is a full installer:

All PT installers are full installers, been that way for years.

I always do a complete uninstall instead of overwriting the old version on Windows, otherwise PT acts weird and have a lot of errors.

I was re-configuring a redundant Mac Pro tower (4,1 updated to 5,1 firmware) and I found an early version of 11.x.x HD that has survived a few operating system upgrades. PT 11 HD is still running under El Capitan...but that is an unsupported Mac OS for 11 HD. The Avid upgrade checker said I could upgrade to 11.3.1 and didn't give me any warning that El Cap was unsupported. Can't figure out why it did not suggest 11.3.2 or 12 (iLOK is enabled up to 12.5).
Also, there was a version of PT 10.x.x HD that was on there, too. PT 10 HD (running under El Capitan) has issues with the user interface pull-down menus, and the uninstaller was broken (no surprise). However, Avid's instructions (Knowledge Base) on how to uninstall PT 10 using the Mac OS "terminal" window worked fine under El Capitan. The relevant Avid web page notes that the terminal app work-around "should" work with Mavericks, and maybe higher Mac OS versions, but is untested. But it worked fine under El Cap, FYI. PT 11 HD had been working on El Cap before the upgrade from 4,1 to 5,1 firmware. But I have not fully tested it. Just changing it over to a hex core before software upgrades.
